Design Lead

## The Role

We're hiring our **inaugural designer** to join a three-person product trio and shape a new way of working in the post-AI age, free from old organisational constraints. You'll operate end to end across the SDLC, from talking to customers through to shipping.

## What You'll Do

- Work end to end: talk to customers, synthesise what you hear, and turn it into workflows that ship
- Design AI-native workflows where the product suggests, drafts, and acts rather than sitting there as a screen
- Prototype quickly and get real product in front of customers
- Set the design patterns that let a small team move fast rather than slow it down
- Partner closely with product and engineering, without becoming a second engineer

## What We're Looking For

- Deep hands-on product design: customer research, synthesis, journey mapping, prototyping, and shaping product decisions
- Pragmatism over perfectionism: you care whether the workflow works for the customer more than pixel-perfect polish
- Enough engineering fluency to communicate well with engineers
- Comfort with ambiguity and a bias to ship in zero-to-one environments
- AI is how you work, not a tool you've tried once

## Why This Role Is Special

You'll be the first designer at an AI-native PR and communications platform, defining how the product feels and how the team designs as we grow. Base of NZ$170,000 to NZ$190,000 plus meaningful equity, with stock options on a four-year vest and a one-year cliff.
