ELA Curriculum Developer

100% Remote

## The Role

We're hiring an **ELA Curriculum Developer** to design and write the English Language Arts lessons that students work through on their own, at their own pace, inside our platform. You'll write video scripts, build assessments, and produce the written materials for secondary ELA (roughly grades 6-12), turning a learning objective into a lesson a kid can actually follow without a teacher in the room. This is a role for someone who has taught ELA, knows what makes a lesson click, and wants to reach far more students than one classroom holds.

## What You'll Do

- Design and develop ELA content: video scripts, assessments, and written materials for secondary students
- Write clear, measurable lesson objectives, then build the lesson and the checks for understanding that prove a student met them
- Make every lesson pedagogically sound, engaging, age-appropriate, and accessible, knowing the student is working without a live teacher to fill gaps
- Partner with subject-matter experts, illustrators, and the production team to turn a script into a finished lesson
- Differentiate so a lesson reaches a struggling reader and a kid who's ahead in the same breath

## What We're Looking For

- At least two years of full-time ELA teaching (grades 9-12, not counting student teaching)
- A bachelor's in Education or an ELA-related field
- A real instinct for what makes a lesson engaging, and the writing chops to put it on the page
- Comfort with Google Workspace, a reliable connection, and a camera
- You can take an objective and work backward to the lesson and the assessment that proves it

## Strong Advantages

Nice-to-haves, not strict requirements.

- Active teaching certification
- Formal curriculum-design training
- Hands-on experience writing curriculum, especially scripts for fully asynchronous video lessons
- Test-prep or AP course experience

## Why This Role Is Special

Most ELA curriculum gets written for a teacher to deliver. Here the lesson has to stand on its own, because the student is the one pressing play. That constraint makes the writing harder and the craft more honest, and when you get it right it reaches a kid learning at the kitchen table who wasn't being served anywhere else.

## Location

100% remote. Our team works from all over, inside and outside the US.

## Next Steps

Tell us about an ELA lesson or assessment you built and how you knew it was working. One real example beats a polished resume here.
