Electrification Coach

## The Role

We're hiring an **Electrification Coach** to be the trusted human a homeowner talks to while they get their house off gas. You'll run consultations over Zoom, walk people through their electrification roadmap, and stay with them from the first nervous question to the day the heat pump is running. You won't sell anything, because our service is free to homeowners. Your job is to turn "this feels confusing and expensive" into "I know what to do next, and I'm doing it."

## What You'll Do

- Run electrification consultations over Zoom, explaining and refining each homeowner's roadmap for their home, budget, and timeline
- Help people sequence the work so the money and the carbon both go further (which upgrade first, which rebate before which deadline)
- Keep homeowners moving with steady follow-up over email, SMS, and Zoom, so a project doesn't stall at the scary part
- Connect homeowners to our vetted contractors, review the proposals that come back, and make sure the pricing is fair
- Document every conversation in the CRM so the next coach, and the homeowner, never lose the thread
- Stay current on heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, induction, solar and battery, panel upgrades, EV charging, and the rebate landscape that changes every quarter

## What We're Looking For

- A couple of years in a customer-facing clean-energy role (coaching, advising, support, or consultative sales where you weren't just closing)
- Real comfort in at least two of: electrical systems, heat pumps, solar, batteries, EV charging, home financing, or rebates and incentives
- The patience and warmth to coach a hesitant homeowner without pushing, and the judgment to know when they're actually ready
- A clear, plain-spoken communicator who can make a panel upgrade feel manageable to someone who's never thought about amperage

## Strong Advantages

Nice-to-haves, not strict requirements.

- A green-building or energy credential (BPI, RESNET, NABCEP, LEED) or Rewiring America training
- Weatherization, HVAC, or residential contracting background
- Bilingual, especially Spanish
- Teaching, motivational interviewing, or financial-planning experience

## Why This Role Is Special

Most people who want to electrify get quoted thousands of dollars just for a plan, then give up. We give them the plan and a coach for free, and the only thing you're optimizing for is whether they actually get it done. There's no quota and nothing to upsell, so homeowners trust you in a way they don't trust a salesperson, and the work is real: every project is one more home off fossil fuels.

## Location

San Francisco, hybrid. Most coaching happens over Zoom from home, with regular in-person time at the office near Powell St BART. If you're outside the Bay Area, expect to be here often early on.
